We are pleased to announce that Mr. Sam Anderson will be taking over in the Fall of 2013 in the role of LHS assistant band director!  Please read below to find out a little bit more about Mr. Anderson.
Mr. Anderson graduated from Lincoln High School in 2002. Some of his high school accomplishments included playing trumpet in the All-State Orchestra, All-State Jazz Band, and being first-chair in the All-State Band. He was a member of the Madison Scouts Drum& Bugle Corps in 2001 and again in 2003 when he was a soloist in the show and was the Mellophone Champion at the Individual & Ensemble Contest in Orlando, FL.

He is a graduate of Northwestern College (St. Paul, MN). In his years there, he performed featured trumpet solos with the Northwestern College Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Orchestra. In 2006 he student-taught at Rosemount High School in Rosemount, MN.

From 2007-2013 Mr. Anderson taught and developed the band program (grades 5-12) at Heritage Christian Academy in Maple Grove, MN. He started a jazz program there which has now grown to three ensembles and has earned Superior rankings at State Solo/Ensemble Contests.

From 2009-2013 he was the Assistant Marching Band Director at Park Center Senior High School, Brooklyn Park, MN. In 2011 and 2012 the band was crowned State Champion at the Vikingland Band Festival in Alexandria, MN.

Outside of music, he loves spending time with his wife Marlea, their son Owen (almost 4 years old) and daughter April (2 years old). Other favorite activities include camping, hiking, and watching DCI. Their whole family is looking forward to moving to Sioux Falls this summer and joining the Lincoln Band community.
