I can’t begin to put into words how blessed I feel to have been a part of this organization. I began as a ‘clueless’ freshman parent 10 years ago. And I mean clueless. I remember taking a lawn chair with me to Joe’s first competition in Marshall. I looked just a little ridiculous carrying it through the gates. I’m sure people wondered what I was going to do with it. And I was almost afraid of some of the band parents that seemed almost cult like! Yes, freshman parents, be honest, that thought has crossed your mind! Oh, and I was so musically challenged I commented to my kids once in the dome that someone else was playing the same song they do, to which my kids burst out laughing, telling me, “Mom, those are scales!” But it didn’t take long to realize this was a wonderful family atmosphere for my own family to have great experiences and to be a part of something bigger than life. Culminating with one of the best birthdays I’ve ever had, when my band kids and family sang Happy Birthday to me Monday night. And hearing Ave Maria one last time. Thank you Seniors.
We would like to thank the chaperones for their dedication and hard work this past season. You were an incredible, well oiled machine who made it through several tribulations, but with smiles and requests to do it again! Your willingness to give up sleep and often comfort is a testament to your support for all of ‘your’ band students. Because all of you did such a great job you made us look good. We couldn’t have done it without you! We hope that those of you with returning students found the experience rewarding and will come back for another season. To all of our senior parents who will no longer have a student in band we bid you adieu! We hope you take with you an abundance of wonderful memories of your experiences. Good luck to all of you: Becky and Chad Phillips, Shaleen Langenfeld, Angie and Dan Digatono, Lynn and Jim Thomason, Nancy and Tom Krueger, Lori Ontjes, and Teresa Wood.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

“The Best Marching Band I have Ever Seen…”
Posted in Bandparents' Note, News by Steve Pfeiffer
It is always great watching the LHS Band put on spectacular shows, but it is even more fun to watch and listen to people who haven’t seen the Lincoln Band before. They are truly amazed. The comment above was made by a parent from the West De Pere Band, the top finishing Class AA band from Wisconsin, who stopped after the afternoon competition and asked me if I was from Lincoln. I can tell you he put extra emphasis on BEST and EVER. This was just one of many compliments paid to the band on Saturday. Way to go LINCOLN BAND!
In case you are having withdrawal symptoms already, here are some links to tide you over until the DVD’s are available:

So evidently now we know. The theme this year seems to be based on toilet issues!!!
